What does it look like to be Jesus’ Disciple?
The Lord put on my heart to show about “knowing” Jesus, the Father, like knowing about Arnold Schwarzenegger verse really knowing him and having a relationship with him.
I must live it out in every area of my life and here are 3 reminders He gives us…

Mark 8:34-38
34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
Am I “Ashamed of Jesus?”
Proverbs 3:5-8
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
8 It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.
Do I “Acknowledge Jesus?”
1 John 1:7-10
7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
Am I “Accountable with Jesus?”
How do I follow Jesus?
Accept the invitation to follow Jesus – trust Him
Be intentional with the time, talent and treasure He has entrusted me with – obey Him
Watch Him, learn from Him, and be in His word – learn from Him
I Love following Jesus – He wants me to focus on Him. (I tend to complicate my relationship with God, but it is simple, He isn’t confusing His message to us.)
